The radicalization and polarization of the ecological movement

As I described, the ecological movement is radicalizing.First you had the harmless protesting pupils, now you have Extinction Rebellion blockading shopping malls and the streets in the inner cities of London and Berlin.A leading member of ER said that democracy might not solve the problems, therefore you had to think about an ecodictatorship.Yesterday the ZEIT published a programmatic article about ecology with 12 thesis speaking of the possibility of an ecodictatorship. This movement started 1 year ago and becomes already radical.Habeck distanced in an interview with WELT TV from ER. He seems to understand that the majority of the Germans don’t like this sort of radicalization.

And you have also a movement against it.The Yellow Jacket in France started because of higher fuel taxes. In Ecuador you have now riots because the goverment tried to comply with the IWF programme and cut the subsidies for fuel. The same could happen in Germany or other Western metropols if the goverment or the Greens push the CO2tax too far.

The intensive debate about ecology becomes now overlapped by a possible new refugee crisis and an economic recession. Therefore ecology, economy and migration will become the top issues in the coming months, not ecology exclusivly anymore.
