Palestine Song – still modern and for the preservation of the West?
Has the West still existed since Trump? What could bring him together musically? All the hedonistic rap and hip hop songs, pop, techno, electro and esoteric Goa sound.? Well, I’m just more on the medieval trip, the Palestine song by Walther von der Vogelweide. A very mystical and monastic song that sings about the crusade, the solidarity of Christianity, although I am not religious, but miss an uniqueness of the West, although I am something between atheist and agnositic and especially leftist. The Palestine song is musically and also value-oriented very beneficial, whereby it is interesting that it is played in many variations today. The best example is the compilation of the Palestine song, in which it is played through in all its variations: from the crusader song, to more feminist interpretations with gentle singing and harp-playing fairies, to the Wacken heavy metal concert.
Now the dominance of pop, hip hop, hits, etc. is so obvious that such medieval songs can only have a niche existence. But the Palestinian song processed in a contemporary form would perhaps be more than a one-hit wonder.Perhaps with the Count/ Der Graf and Unholy/Unheilig (Born to Live) or Schandmaul / (Walburgis Night / You as an escort/ Euch zum Geleit) as the beginning. Helene Fischer should be less to win for it..
